Major Metros Population And Housing Growth Rates

<< Back Home Created : June 14, 2005
                                                   **** Last Update : Jan 6, 2011

The Census Bureau publishes yearly data on population and the number of
 housing units in the country.

For the last few years, the rate of housing growth is exceeding the rate
of population growth. We only need new houses to accommodate the additional
population.

In the last four years, we have been constructing more houses than we
can find people who would live in them.

Bottom line, the supply is increasing but the prices are also rising.
Should it not be the other way? When supply increases, prices should come down.
Sooner rather than later, The Most Fundamental Law of Economics will ASSERT
itself.

All Data Obtained from Census Bureau.

Estimates as of July 1 of the respective year.
